Common Communication Conference
Date: 01/2019
Worldwide, pension institutions and social security administrations work on improving pension communication in order to achieve better understanding of old age provisions for the citizens. Recent trends in pension reforms around the world lead to an increased need for individual pension information, as well as general financial literacy, according to the ISSA Global report of Dynamic Social security. Hereby, pension institutions are dealing with various kinds of questions such as what is considered to be key information, how to tackle different user horizons or how to deal with high uncertainties in pension projections to estimate future retirement incomes.
Therefore, the associations EAPSPI (European Association of Public Sector Pension Institutions) and ESIP (European Social Insurance Platform), and FindyourPension have initiated a conference on pension communication. You are cordially invited to the event which aim is to open up a cross-border and cross-pillar exchange about best practices in pension communication and how to tackle the challenges in this field. The morning session kicks off with different lectures concerning the themes: “Pension literacy- and communication” and “Tracking”. In the afternoon, the topics ‘Personal space, log-in and calculations, as well as ‘Pensions and the role of Social Media’ will be discussed. Each of these themes will be presented by communication representatives of well-known first and second pillar pension institutions within a dedicated workshop, giving participants the opportunity to exchange and express their point of view. Together we will investigate and evaluate proposed approaches. The event could be a first concrete step towards a regular (communication) exchange among pension institutions and providers of all pillars. The conference will be sponsored and supported by EAPSPI, ESIP and the FindyourPension Initiative.
